John DouglasCONNORIn loving memory of John Douglas Connor of Rutherglen, passed away suddenly on 24th August 2021.

Devoted and dearly loved brother of Dorothy Ellen Connor and dearly loved only son of the late John Patrick (Jack) Connor and Helen (Eileen) nee Kelly.

The best big brother. You were my strength and my safe harbour, my shelter from the storm.

"Think of me with laughter For I loved to make you smile I'll be that funny thought You haven't thought of in a while Think of me when sunlight Is streaming on your face The warmth that you are feeling Is the warmth of my embrace."

Sleep on soldier. Your work's done. Safely held in angels' wings.

Until we meet again. Love always, Dot xx

Eleven years ago today I was having major cancer surgery but I hadn't told you what it was. I sent you to Rutherglen Library to see the WW2 exhibition about our Dad's war service in Burma, just to keep you busy and stop you from worrying.
Five years ago today I was conducting your funeral. It makes no sense.
My friend played two requests on her radio show this week-Diana Ross, When You Tell Me That You Love Me. The only concert we went to see together in the 1970s was Diana Ross at the Apollo in Glasgow and the last cd you bought me, which arrived after you had gone, was Diana Ross 'Thank You.'

Thank you for being the best big brother. I am sorry I let you down. I did my best -as you would sometimes say. I am still fighting the good fight and getting on as best I can. My friend also played Dolly Parton 'I Will Always Love You.' What more can I say? I will and thank you for all your love, care and kindness and always standing by me through thick and thin. Mum and Dad would have been so proud. I am sure they always were about both of us.
Love Always,
Dorothyxx
