The best teacher ever...need more like Mrs.Kanska. She taught me well as I passed my French 0 level. Remember that she spoke other languages fluently too. A lovely singer too...she was a natural entertainer...very , very clever and talented. Good to know she had a long life. Always wondered if she visited Brazil as she would often comment on this being a country she would like to see before she died...

Had Miss Evans for French. Lovely lady & teacher. Still remember some of the French she taught. Helpful as I now live in Canada.

Mrs Kanaka taught me French at Bournville Secondary school. I have never forgotten her because she made learning such fun with her teaching style and enthusiasm for the subject. Because of this I did, and always have loved, French.
I also recall how immaculate she always looked and her 'star turns' each christmas in the school concerts. She was always in a large number of the acts. To hear she was a member of BOS is therefore no surprise. She deserved to be centre stage.
I am sorry to hear of her death but a part of me is also glad to hear that she had a long life with many pleasures, judging by words that people have written. RIP Mrs Kanaka

Miss Evans was my French teacher for 5 years 1960 to 65. She was always immaculately dressed and coifed and was a wonderful teacher. I remember she gave me my “French” name of Brigitte which I wore with pride. I was a chubby little girl and felt awkward but Miss Evans told me that all the famous painters used models with “shape”! What a great lady - in every sense of the word.
