For over 25 years, I had the wonderful pleasure of knowing Judith, through having my boat Mr Tod moored at the end of her garden. Mr Tod was my great escape from the trials & tribulations of a frenetic business and professional life, and I often sought solace there - but it was always a much looked forward to ritual to catch up with her when I managed to get down to the boat - especially because she understood the stresses and strains that a medical life brought, and we would often wax lyrical about that and general life!
Later, when Mr Tod was being renovated, it made sense for me to buy Amaryllis whilst this was going on - and I know Judith was happy that this meant her boat stayed on her mooring - it was important to her, and therefore to me. In her later years we managed a couple of summer trips up to the Shady Oak Pub for some lunch on Amaryllis, the memories of which, I still hold dear.
My overriding memory of Judith will always be her fabulous philosophical view of life. A lovely lady, with a beautiful soul, and it was a total privilege to know her as an important part of my own life over those years. RIP Judith, from Matthew xx
