PatriciaWOODCOCKMrs Patricia Woodcock, known as Trish, of Accrington, died on Thursday, April 28, aged 76. Mum’s first job was in the mills, then she worked as a dancer in pubs and clubs. When I was small, she worked as an overnight care worker, and sometimes I would go with her. Mum loved her horses, even before I was born, so I grew up with them. We even did carnivals and horse shows; she’d always bring home any waif and strays. She loved going to country and western at the weekend, where she did shootouts and cancan. Mum loved her holidays; she went to Portugal, Lanzarote, Mexico City, and Cancun, where mum and Albert got married. She also visited Florida, Turkey, Hawaii, India, Bulgaria, Maldives, and Mediterranean cruises. We would all go on the trips to see the sites; snorkelling in the Egyptian Red Sea was mine and Albert’s favourite. She always moaned about the food, and always went with her own tea bags. Even on the plane the last time we flew she had her own tea bags, sugar and milk; the plane was in stitches. She also knew every swear word, and she spoke her mind. Mum loved jewellery, anything shiny, and clothes. Mum’s main passion was family. She leaves behind husband Albert, daughter Gaynor, son-in-law Len, grandchildren Trisha and Leo, great granddaughter Harley, and Cath and Steven to name just a few from her Rochdale side. The funeral was held on Tuesday, May 10, at Accrington Crematorium. Donations to Only Foals and Horses or the RSPCA c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.
