Pamela JeanWOODIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pamela Jean Wood, affectionately known as Pam, who passed away peacefully on 24th August 2026, aged 89 years.
A devoted Mum to Carol and Colin, and a much-loved Grandma to Heather and William. Pam will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
For many years, Pam worked for the Meals on Wheels service, delivering not only meals but also kindness, companionship, and reassurance to members of her local community. Travelling to work on her trusty moped, she became a familiar and welcome face to so many. For some, her visits were much more than a delivery; they were a valued source of friendship and support.
Pam had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed walking and trekking, including conquering the famous Three Peaks and exploring the beauty of the Scottish Highlands. She was also a keen gardener and enjoyed canal boating with her family, creating many treasured memories together. Above all, she cherished spending time with those she loved.
Kind-hearted, humble, and easy-going, Pam never had a bad word to say about anyone. Although quiet and modest by nature, she was greatly respected and warmly regarded by all who knew her. Her gentle spirit, warmth, and unwavering kindness touched many lives and will be remembered with great affection.
Pam will be greatly missed and forever loved by all whose lives she touched.
A Service of Celebration for Pam's life will take place at Loughborough Crematorium on Thursday 10th September 2026 at 12:30pm.
All are welcome to attend.
Family flowers only, with donations in memory of Pam kindly directed to the Alzheimer's Society.
