Dear Mam, it’s been a year and what a year it’s been.
Rumer came along she’s nearly 1 now and of course she couldn’t wait for Amy‘s birthday so the poor kid has to look forward to a whole life hearing about that, remember how you always said it about Violet 😂
It’s already a competition, we are thinking a day at the zoo for her birthday so of course Amy doesn’t want to go to the zoo 🙈
We’ve all had birthday, Dan was 21 and yours would’ve been your 80th so we celebrated you with cake and an exploding singing candle with the hammer on standby to shut it up.
We’ve had a Christmas, a Halloween, a school family day to name but a few, all without you there.
Dad won the family grand national sweepstake and spent his winnings on a fancy green bottle 😉
We’ve been back to the Isle of Wight and left a bit of you there in the sea near the chippy (W3W wink/grades/hillside)
I did a thing at the tattoo shop which I knew you wouldn’t approve of, but I did it anyway.
Today we celebrated in day of the dead style we had pictures of you and lots of lovely decorations, we ate your favourite food and of course we had cake, you would’ve loved it.
All the kids were together and there was lots of laughter.
You have a bench, not the one covered in seagull poop but one where you can look out to see or watch the kids play in the park and I hope if people stop and see the plaque they will say hello to you and chat for a while.
Most of all this year has been about missing you but celebrating things the way you would have.
Today has been full of every emotion and, as Vivienne would say (iykyk) “tomorrow is another day”
I’ve not said it for a whole year now but night night god bless Mam love you xxx

Happy heavenly 80th Birthday mam. We all got together to celebrate Rebecca made you a cake and Amy made squashed egg sarnis and tuna pasta, there was no Caribbean chicken though!!
We sang Happy Birthday and had a musical exploding flower candle for you and broke it into pieces to stop it playing once we’d used it cos nobody me wants that playing for days!!
The little ones all had multiple turns at blowing out the candles (we took the candle off the cake to avoid spittage)
The big kids cut your cake and made a wish in your name.
But mostly we just missed you lots today xxx

Margaret was a wonderful sister-in-law to Robert and Alex and aunt to Andy,Julie, Chris and Kate and families. Margaret loved her family as fiercely as they returned that love. It was her family that gave her the greatest pleasure. Margaret would listen without judgment and she was loving and loyal. No matter what was happening she would always be able to make things seem brighter. We seemed to manage to end our talks with laughter. There was a light that shone from Margaret that has diminished too soon. Margaret has left a hole in our lives that can never be filled. She will never be forgotten love Robert and Alex
