PatriciaWHEWELLMrs Patricia Grace ‘Pat’ Whewell, née Anderton, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 25, surrounded by her family. Pat, the wife of the late Frank Whewell, leaves her son Stephen, daughter-in-law Lynda, granddaughter Natalie, her husband Tim, and great-grandson Nicholas. Born one of eight siblings, Pat was a confectioner by trade, running her own business in Avenue Parade for many years, before working for Derber’s stall, in the Market Hall, and finally for Greggs in Accrington town centre, from where she retired. Pat loved to spend time with her family and, until recently, has been an avid walker and reader. Pat’s funeral will be held on Friday, July 9, at 1pm at St Mary Magdalen’s Church, Accrington, prior to her cremation at 1.40pm at Accrington Crematorium, led by Fr David Arnold. Family flowers only; donations can be made in memory of Pat to St Mary Magdalen’s C of E Primary School, to be used to purchase additional books for the school library, c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.
