MichaelWHELANIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Whelan, beloved husband, devoted father, cherished son, and treasured brother, who left us peacefully on 24th May 2026 succumbing to COPD, at the age of 64.
Michael was a man of great kindness, generosity, and unwavering love and touched the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Sue, their son Sean, and his sisters, Kathleen and Caroline, having recently also lost Patricia. He also leaves behind nephews and a niece Rhys, Sian, Christopher, and Charles. His legacy is of fond memories, laughter, and enduring love that will be sorely missed.
The funeral service will be held at St Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Roath on 23rd June at 10:00, followed by the committal in Thornhill Northern Cemetery, for those who knew Mike.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cancer Research UK.
