Cecilia AnneWATSONof Bury Street, Oswaldtwistle passed away on March 24, aged 86 years. Following her schooling, Cecilia went to work at Barrow Print Works near Clitheroe where she worked for several years. Later she became a welfare assistant at Holy Family Secondary School, where she worked for a good number of years. Cecilia then went to work at the Dame Evelyn Fox Special School in Blackburn where she assisted the children to and from school working alongside her late husband Henry, who drove the school bus. She remained there for some time before taking retirement. Cecilia was an avid reader, she especially enjoyed Catherine Cookson novels. She was also fond of gardening and was very proud of the roses she grew. She enjoyed listening to music, especially that of Engelbert Humperdinck. She also liked watching quiz shows on TV, her favourite being Pointless. She also liked to follow Accrington Stanley FC. Cecilia was the beloved wife of the late Henry Edward, devoted mother to Anthony Edward, sister of the late Michael, cousin to Christine and her family and also a dear friend to all who knew her. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Theresa Kenyon. A service will be held on Thursday, April 6 at Accrington Crematorium Chapel, Burnley Road, Accrington at 10.20am, conducted by FR. Sean O’Brien. Followed by a cremation at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only, donations to Parkinson’s UK or Alzheimer’s Society.
