John DavidWALSHJohn passed away peacefully in The Royal Liverpool Hospital on 11th May 2026.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad.
Dad lived a full and colourful life, one shaped by hard work, resilience, intelligence, humour and character.
As a young man he served as a Merchant Seaman, then later worked as a painter and decorator, a trade he took pride in.
Born during difficult times, Dad was evacuated to North Wales as a child during WW11, an experience that stayed with him throughout his life
He was exceptionally well read and had a remarkable memory for historical facts and quotations. Always able to recall a saying or piece of wisdom for almost any occasion.
Dad would openly admit he was not the perfect man or husband, but he was honest about his shortcomings and mellowed greatly with age. He loved his friendships and outings especially a 'Jolly Boys'.
Will be missed by daughter Michelle, son Ian, son-in-law Gerard as well as granddaughter Odessa.
Funeral Service to take place on Friday 5th June 2026 at Anfield Crematorium at 10:40a.m. No flowers please but donations if desired to RNIB.
