Sadly passed away unexpectedly in her flat in Queens Court on 28th February aged 102.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all her family.

She enjoyed an active life and until very recently could often be seen in Retford doing her shopping.

I had the pleasure of doing this wonderful ladies hair most Fridays for over 20 years. She shared wonderful stories of Retford over tea and biscuits by the fire. Rest in peace Esme 🙏🏻

Dear Esma a friend since I was 7 years old in 1959. Working at my family home , making a banana sandwich for me after school . Working for the family business C and A Peck and son ltd . The family were all very fond of Esma . I will miss her. With our love, Ros (nee Peck) and Tim Barker.

So sad to see this , I worked with Esma, in pecks Wool shop years ago. If we met in town we would always have a good catch up . Such a lovely lady xx

Wonderful lady and fellow resident. I was so inspired by her to take each day as it comes. She was so creative and always had a smile for everyone. I will miss her.

I had the pleasure of doing Esma’s hair every week for the last few years. A wonderful lady with so much interesting knowledge of Retford over the years gone by. She will be sadly missed, i will always have happy memories of our chats together & tea breaks with a packet of mini cheddars 😊 while she was under the hairdryer 💕
