JanetTOWNSENDpassed away peacefully on Monday, October 25 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital from a respiratory illness, aged 64. She leaves behind her three sons, Marc, Leon and Gareth, along with her four grandchildren, Bea, Poppy, Lennon and Olivia. Janet was the youngest of seven children and grew up in Accrington, attending the Holy Family school, and she was a keen sportswoman in her younger years, representing Lancashire for swimming, and Accrington for netball. Despite her battles during her time, Janet led a fulfilled life and was kind to everyone that she met along the way. Janet was married to Graham and they had many happy years together, bringing up their three sons. In later life, her friendship with Marilyn helped her through and gave her a new focus on enjoying life through their countless holidays. Janet loved her football and held a season ticket at Accrington Stanley and would watch every televised game of football possible, with Liverpool being her sporting heroes. Janet’s funeral will take place at Accrington Crematorium on Monday, November 8 at 12.20pm. No flowers please by request. Donations can be made in memory of Janet to the RSPCA c/o champfunerals.com/ obituaries. All enquiries to Champ Funeral Services, Bank House, Whalley Road, Clayton-le-Moors.
