KathleenTAYLORWith deep sadness, the family of Kathleen Mary Taylor, nee Finn, of Oswaldtwistle, announce her death on Monday, December 6, in the Royal Blackburn Hospital, at the age of 80. She died peacefully, without pain, with her loving family by her side. Kathleen was a loving wife to Alan for 61 years. She was a devoted loving mother to her daughters Julie and Susan, and mother-in-law to Francis - all of whom she was very proud. Kathleen had an abundance of love for her grandson Joe and his wife Denise, granddaughter Beth, and great-grandsons Sam, Alfie, and Reuben. Kathleen was born and grew up in Accrington, the daughter of the late Jack and Kathleen Finn, and sister to Gerald, Tony, Pauline, Bill, twin Jacqueline and John. She will be very sadly missed by all her family and friends. Kathleen began her working life as a hairdresser at Maison Jacqueline in Warner Street, Accrington; after getting married she began her own successful hairdressing business. Her working life also included Rists Wires, the hairdressing department at Accrington & Rossendale College, Abbode Cafe, Accrington, and Peggy’s Cafe in the Market Hall. Kathleen touched the lives of many with her kind heart and generosity of spirit. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, and gentle, loving nature. Her Requiem will be held at St Mary’s RC Church, Oswaldtwistle, on Thursday, December 23, at 10am, followed by cremation at Accrington Cemetery, led by Fr Sean O’Brien. Family flowers only; donations may be made to Parkinson’s UK or Cancer Research UK c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Oswaldtwistle.
