Daniel Fernand AdamSTAUDERDaniel passed away peacefully at the Royal Blackburn Hospital with family by his side, aged 75 years. Dearly loved husband to Janet, devoted dad to Fleur and the late Adam, good friend to Lee, a dear brother and brother-in-law to Thérèse and Gérard, uncle to Céline and Gisèle, much loved son-in-law to Margaret and the late Harry also a dear relative and friend to many. Dan was born to Suzanne and Léon in France and grew up in a small village called Tupigny. Whilst at University at the age of 23 Dan for the second year running hitch hiked his way around Great Britain and arrived at St Ives where he met his future wife Janet. Dan strolled across the room and lit Janet’s cigarette, started a conversation and as they say the rest is history. He took various jobs to support his family and from 1980 until retirement he worked at Caligen Foam. Dan loved holidays especially where the mountains meet the sea and thought that the British coastline was second to none. He loved gardening, home improvements and had a real passion for cooking. He will be remembered for being a thoughtful, selfless, quiet and gentle man with a great sense of humour who enjoyed good food, wine, company and the occasional cigar. Since 2005 Dan’s health started to decline but he remained positive, strong and determined to the end. Dan’s funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday, November 15 at 11.40am.
