BarrieSPOONEROn 29th September 2018 peacefully at his home in Clayton-le-Moors, Barrie aged 73 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Ruth, much loved dad of Jayne and Allison, dear father-in-law of Eddie and Simon, loving grandpa of Leah, Jack, Alex and Joe, and dear brother-in-law of Barbara. Barrie began his working life as a plumbing apprentice at Jack Lonsdales in Burnley and worked there for 9 years. He then worked with his father-in-law in funeral supplies and remained working in the funeral profession until his retirement in 2010. He enjoyed travelling to his customers and covered Scotland, Wales and Devon. Barrie had a twinkle in his eye and was warm and affectionate with a kind eye for the ladies. He loved painting and drawing cartoons and he was great at DIY. There was nothing he couldn't fix. He was a keen gardener and he loved his home. There was a place for everything and everything was always in its place. Barrie also enjoyed music and completing crosswords and puzzle books. Barrie's funeral service will take place at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road, Accrington BB5 6HA on Tuesday 9th October 2018 at 11.40am.
