The obituary notice of Michael SPARKES

I have only recently found out this sad news through the grapevine. I am sure I speak for all his old friends and colleagues from his PO Telephones and latterly BT days that it was a privilege to have known and worked with him. His calm and gentle nature defined his character, I have nothing but happy memories of him and am greatly saddened to learn of his passing. Phil Appleton, Rowhedge. Essex.

We loved getting to know and came to love Mike, we are both missing him dearly. We loved the humour, gentleness and kindness that Mike always showed to us. He was a great man. The world is a sadder place without him

Mike has been a good friend and kind neighbour over the course of forty years. We shall miss him greatly..With love from Ruth, Roger, Emma and Rebecca.
