Penelope Jane MiddletonSMITHIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Penny.

A much loved daughter of Dorothy and Richard Rose, she was a cherished sister to Vivian and Philip, fiancé of Richard Marriott, aunty to Andy, Sam, and Rachael, and a treasured friend to Karen, Dawn, Sarah, and so many others whose lives she brightened.

A talented hairdresser and the proud owner of RIX Hair Salon in Spondon Village, Penny brought creativity and warmth to her community. Beyond her work, she found joy in music - dancing to 90's anthems, singing along to Simple Minds, and embracing the energy of Years and Years. Her love of music was infectious, and it reflected the vibrant spirit she carried through life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and friendship. Her family and friends will forever hold her in their hearts.

A service to celebrate Penny's life will be held at St Werburgh's Church, Spondon on Thursday 18th December 2025 at 11.00am, followed by the interment at Dale Hill Natural Burial Ground. All who knew her are welcome to join us in honouring her memory.

Family flowers only please. Donations if desired are invited for Macmillan Cancer Support and The Salvation Army. These can be made online at www.georgesimnett.co.uk or may be given at the service.
