The obituary notice of Pamela (Pam) SMITH - (INVERGORDON)

Pam, I have known you since I was five years old. You were one of those special people who left a mark, not through grand gestures, but through the everyday kindness, laughter, and support you gave so freely.
You had a wicked sense of humour. You could make people laugh, lift the mood in a room, and find a way to bring lightness, even when things felt difficult. Your humour was part of your warmth, and it is something that will be remembered with a smile by everyone who knew you.
More than anything, you were kind and supportive. To have known you for so many years has been a privilege, and the memories shared with you will always be treasured.
You will be deeply missed, Pam, but you will also be remembered with love, gratitude, and laughter. Your kindness, humour, and the support you gave so generously will remain with us forever.

Pam, you were our neighbour in Zambia, and from the very beginning you became so much more than that. We had a gate between our houses, which was very handy, but it also became a symbol of the friendship that grew between us — a friendship that has lasted through all these years.
You were a true friend, Pam. You were always there for me, for Joe, and for the kids. When my mom died just five months after we arrived in Zambia, you were my rock. Your kindness, strength, and steady presence meant more than words can ever fully express.
I will always treasure all your visits to South Africa, as well as the visits we had with you in Invergordon. We certainly had plenty of fun and so much laughter — memories I will hold close forever.
I will miss our weekly, and sometimes daily, chats. I will miss your friendship, your warmth, and the comfort of knowing you were always there. Rest in peace, my dear friend.

Our dear Pam. How very grateful I am that we reconnected after so many years. You sounded just the same fun-loving person I knew all those years ago in Zambia! You made a superb and efficient travel agent which I think gave you the self-esteem you so richly deserved. And as for your cooking! So admirable in light of all the shortages we experienced in the Zambia of the late 70’s and early 80’s. We remember Roy playing rugby for Roan (you always said through binoculars!!) and the grand European tour they all went on. I have an abiding memory of Paul aged about 8 climbing frames and onto roofs despite both legs being in plaster- no fear at all! I’m remembering our trip down to Victoria Falls with my cousin Thurstan and the fun we had.
Rest in peace dear Pam. With our best antipodean love, Prue and Bill Green.
