JamesSCHOLESA much-loved husband, Dad, Grandad and friend to many, Mr James ‘Jimmy’ Scholes, 73, of Jubilee Street, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 17. He worked as a welder for many years up until his retirement. He was then able to pursue his hobbies of golf, swimming, jogging, looking after his granddaughters, or tending to his allotment. As a keen football player in his younger years, he was a life-long supporter of Burnley FC, and was a season ticket holder for Accrington Stanley. Jimmy leaves behind his wife Jackie, of 42 years, daughters Karen and Joanne, granddaughters Lexi, Madison, Faye, and Hallie, sons-in-law Marc and Matthew, sister Sheila, and late sister Brenda. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 3, at 11.40am at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only, with donations if desired to Alzheimer’s Society c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.
