Beloved by his wife Joan, and his loving family David, Caroline, Lynne, Kevin, Conor, Mollie, Edward, Lucie and Aedan.

Director of Architectural Services, Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council, 1973-1995 & Technical Director and Architect to Northumbria Police Force, 1986-1995. Designer of Gateshead's Civic Centre, Leisure Centre and International Stadium. Artist, Sailor, Morganeer.

Funeral to be held at 12pm St Francis Church, High Heaton, Newcastle Upon Tyne, on Tuesday 22nd July 2025.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu will be received on the day to benefit Prostate Cancer UK and The Salvation Army.

Dennis created a strong exterior for himself, and sometimes in the workplace he could seem quite forbidding, but I think you had to be to survive as a Director in Gateshead council!

But Dennis gave me a lift home from a presentation we had done and he was totally charming, talking about his wife and family and himself, all in a nice way. It was just such a pleasant experience and I could see the real man behind the armour he had had to create. He was always fair with me and I have a lot of respect for him and I hope God protects him and his remaining family.🙏
