SheilaRAWCLIFFEMrs Sheila Rawcliffe, nee Brown, of Harrow Avenue, Accrington, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, aged 81. Sheila attended Peel Park Junior School and Hyndburn Park Senior School, and, after leaving school, went on to complete her hairdressing apprenticeship with her father George, at his shop Maison Jacqueline. She then opened her own business on Higher Antley Street. She then went to work at Brockhall Hospital, then Calderstones, which she thoroughly enjoyed up until she retired. Sheila loved riding pillion with her husband on his Vespa. They later had a touring caravan which they regularly used to travel abroad. She had many hobbies, including baking, gardening and travelling, and was a keen dog lover. Wife to the late Kevin, she was Mother to Mark, Grandma to Rachel, Sister to Anne and the late Jean, Sister-in-Law to Anne and Cliff, Auntie to Philip, Anthony, Peter, Geoff, Gavin, Andrea and the late Deborah. Friend to Paul, Laura, Flo, Pauline, Frida, Marie, Elaine, Rose and many more. A funeral service will be held at 1.40pm on Friday, August 13, at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road, Accrington, administered by Fr. Seamus Quigley, followed by cremation, then at The Crown, Whalley Road, afterwards. Family flowers only please, however donations, if desired, are suggested for East Lancashire Hospice or North West Air Ambulance Charity c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington.
