Farewell my friend. I consider it a privilege and honour that I spent ten days with you near the end of your incredible journey. Yours was the first smiling face that I saw, when I was admitted to yellow Bay, on Kings D male ward, at WHH, on 21 Feb. We seemed to share the same sense of humour, wicked, some folks might say. The ward was never the same when you left for more intensive care.
It was with great sadness that I learned that you would not be following me through the main entrance of the hospital.
It is only Corvid-19 that will keep me away from your funeral, wearing my brightest pink shirt. Rest Peacefully, my friend.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun, shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
