MargaretPEIRCEMargaret Peirce, born Margaret Rawcliffe, of Church Street, was brought up in Church, where she has lived ever since. Margaret sadly passed away on Wednesday, February 16, in Blackburn Royal Hospital, aged 71. Margaret was a hairdresser all of her life, having her own salon in Church, and also a care worker at Vine House and Church View Rest Homes, in Oswaldtwistle. She was a local celebrity on the club scenes since a very early age, taking to the stages to produce a voice that many still remember to this day. Margaret leaves behind her beloved son William, her granddaughter Willow, her daughter-in-law Kimberley, her partner Pat, her brother Alan, sister-in-law Paula, and nephew James. A devoted mother, beautiful grandmother, supportive and encouraging friend to all. She will be greatly missed. The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 3, at 1pm at Accrington Crematorium. Open to flowers. No donations. Funeral director: Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.

My darling Margaret you were the kindest, bravest and happiest person I have ever known. Margaret was my cousin but was 16 years my senior. When my sister Jo and I were kids she was like having a big sister that could drive. She would love to drive us both to Blackpool for a day out and buy us a knickerbocker glory at Notarianni’s.
Margaret always had a gloriously child like sparkle in her eyes and sense of fun and laughter. She would tell us stories that would have us all crying with laughter, usually because of some hilarious predicament she had got herself into.
Margaret sadly had a condition that took hold of her in mid life with a remorseless progression that led to many unpleasant and debilitating complications. Yet, throughout this she somehow always managed to maintain that sense of fun and make us all laugh. She showed the most unbelievable bravery and strength in not letting her condition get her down.
We will miss you my darling but we will have some lovely, happy memories.
Night, night.
All my love always.

Saturday nights at Margaret's are some of my happiest memories. She was a wonderful woman, kind and generous in spirit - and also in spirits! I'm not saying her measures were strong but her vodka and Coke was the colour of Red Bull!

Margaret's house was always a place of warmth and fun for me. She was completely non-judgemental, accepting everyone for who they were, regardless of their flaws. A priceless trait I think.

It's a cliche but they threw away the mould when they made Margaret. She will be missed dearly

Much Love from Patt, Bob and Leo xxx
