OWENALFREDAged 87 years, died at Walsall Manor Hospital on Sunday, 25th May 2008. Alfred was born on 4th September 1920 and resided in Pelsall. Throughout his life he always strove to serve and enhance the community of Pelsall, in which he had great pride. During his years of public service he held many prominent positions. Notably he was a councillor for twenty nine years and held the Office of Chairman of Aldridge Urban District Council. He also served as a Justice of the Peace on Aldridge/Walsall Magistrate's Bench. Alfred, who is survived by one son, two daughters and two grandsons, was much loved by his family and he will be sadly missed. The funeral will take place at Saint Michael's and All Angels Church, Pelsall on Tuesday, 17th June at 11.30am. This will be followed by burial at Pelsall Cemetery. The family request family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Cancer Research in memory of Alf. All friends and family will be welcome at the funeral.
