ColinORMERODColin Bert Ormerod - known as Bert - passed away peacefully in hospital on October 19, aged 85 years. Colin was an engineer and served his apprenticeship at English Electric (GEC). He worked at Renown Gears for 30 years until his retirement in 2002. In his younger days he supported Accrington Stanley and for over 40 years supported Accrington Cricket Club. He enjoyed reading, stamp collecting and had a passion for steam trains and vintage buses. He, along with his wife, enjoyed many varied holidays including two trips to Australia and many visits to his favourite places Lanzarote and the New Forest. Beloved husband of 60 years to Marion, loving father of Mark and Karen and father-in-law to Dianne and the late Ian. Cherished grandad of Ryan, his wife Hannah and Samantha, treasured great grandad of Jack, beloved brother of Derek and David. A service will take place on Wednesday, November 2 at Accrington Crematorium at 12.20pm. Family flowers only, donations to Maundy Relief, Accrington via Hyndburn Funeral Service.
