MarilynNICOLof Lynwood Avenue, Clayton-le-Moors, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Thursday, July 27, aged 82 years. Born and bred in Glasgow, she moved down to England after she married her devoted husband Ernie, who became a policeman in the area and they were together for just over 60 years, celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary with a family party at their home on June 29 this year. When she moved down to England, Marilyn worked at Hoover in Great Harwood before the birth of their only son David into the family. After that she worked at All Speeds in Clayton-le-Moors for over 30 years holding a number of positions before retiring as the PA to the managing director. Her main interest in life was looking after everyone else and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition she loved socialising and going on holiday with her husband Ernie and they visited many places together over the years. She sadly leaves behind her husband Ernie, her much loved son David, treasured grandchildren Sarah and her partner Tom, Katie and her husband Dominic and Tom her grandson. She was also a dearly love grandma ‘grape’ to her great-grandchildren Henry, Elsie and Mabel. Marilyn will be very sadly missed by all her family friends and a celebration of her life will take place at Accrington Crematorium at 1.40pm on Wednesday, August 9. Family flowers only please. But donations are being welcomed for either ELHT&Me or Dogs Trust. Further enquiries c/o Peter and Sonia, Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington
