Susan DawnNANCARROWA private funeral has taken place at Treswithian Downs Crematorium for Susan Nancarrow aged 63 of Camborne, this was preceded by a blessing given by Pastor Sarah Flowerday.

Susan was born on 23rd May 1963 to Dorothy & Roy Nancarrow at Tremorvah Nursing Home, Redruth. She grew up in Four Lanes with her sisters Anne & Karen and attended Nine Maidens CP School, transferring to Trewirgie Secondary and then Pool School. On leaving school Susan had a variety of jobs, mainly clerical work at Percy Williams & Sons builders in Redruth and Cornwall College.

From a young age Susan attended Four Lanes Methodist Sunday School where she played piano at some of the children's concerts. Susan very much enjoyed her piano playing gaining up to Grade 5. She loved music, particularly the seventies era and in the 1970/80s Susan was a keen follower of Camborne Town Band.

In her early 30s Susan developed Rheumatoid Arthritis, two knee replacements followed, she managed to keep active however as the disease progressed it was decided to move in 1997 from the house in Four Lanes to a bungalow in Camborne. Susan loved it when her nephews Darren & Andrew were born and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them, especially on holidays. She had such a good sense of humour along with being kind, thoughtful & generous. Over the years Susan has enjoyed many holidays all over Cornwall and in particular loved going to Southsea with family each year staying in an apartment on the seafront overlooking the Solent and Isle of Wight. Latterly Susan spent several weeks each year at Gwel-an-Mor with her sisters. She loved animals especially cats, owning several over the years, the last one living to the age of 22!

Unfortunately in 2015 Susan was admitted to hospital with pneumonia; heart failure was diagnosed at that time. After spending a month in hospital her mobility declined and for the past 11 years her health got considerably worse and since the pandemic had been housebound. Susan was truly grateful for the care and support received from Penhellis Care Agency (Trelawney Care). She grew extremely fond of her carers, very much enjoyed hearing about their lives especially in the last couple of years as her health deteriorated. Susan remained happy, content and rarely complained considering the difficulties she had faced during her life.

Susan was a much loved daughter, sister and aunt who will be greatly missed. Thankfully she was able to remain in her home until 25th May when she was admitted to Treliske with complications due to her arthritis and passed away peacefully the following day.

Anne & Karen would like to thank family, friends and neighbours who sent cards and messages of sympathy, the very kind carers who visited each day, Anne Walker & Lidia Lazar two wonderful friends & carers who had known the whole family for many years. Grateful thanks also to Pastor Sarah Flowerday and Nick Jose Funeral Director for his kindness and respect shown throughout.
