When we were first looking for a childminder for Griff we said, no dogs, no smoking. Anne smoked and had a dog. Now I don't mean she smoked copiously over the kids, of course not, she went outside on the rarest of occasions for a quick drag and usually only in the evenings after the kids had gone home. However we loved her from the moment we met her. She saw more of Griff in his first two and a half years than we did. She heard his first words, saw his first walk and Griff was determined that he was going to marry Lulu. We lived with "blob" for tomato ketchup and him not eating Jackie's scrambled egg but lapping up all of Anne's. We moved away but still Griff had to have his annual trip for a week to stay with Anne. Anne and Bob because great family friends, we attended Laura's wedding and let off Chinese lanterns. We went to spend the weekend in the Windemere Hydro on a murder mystery weekend. Anne, or maybe Bob got there words mixed up and so the great Mental Kint Cake was invented.
