In tears I watched you suffer
and slowly fade away,
although my
heart was breaking,
I knew you could not stay.
But when I saw
you sleeping
so peacefully,
free from pain
I knew I could
not wake you,
to suffer once again.
My heart still
aches with sadness
and secret tears still flow. no one will ever know.
