MaryMCKEONEMy mother, Mary McKeone spent the last 18 months of her life at the Meadows Care Home in Ormesby, Middlesbrough. Whenever I visited her she was always spotlessly clean, her hair done and smelled of perfume. She was also very ill. The staff were more like her daughters than her carers and it was a happy place that I often left, with a smile on my face. She died peacefully there, in the arms of my Dad, her loving husband, in her own room with dignity and surrounded by her own things. For this I am eternally grateful. The Meadows in Spanish is `Las Vegas', another place where my mother was well looked after. Michael McKeone, her son.
