JeanMASONIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Mason on Thursday, January 28, at Ashmeade Care Home, Burnley, at the age of 89. Jean was predeceased by her dear daughter Julie, June 20, 2020. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her husband Richard of 69 years, her daughter Carole, and her husband Danny, her four grandchildren Lee and wife Claire, Scott, Danielle and husband Trevor, Chris and wife Sabrina, great grandchildren Ben, Chloe, Simon, Bryce, and James, as well as being auntie Jean to Craig, Sue, and Kathy. Jean’s favourite pastimes were cooking, knitting, doing her word searches, playing dominoes, and cards. Her many trips to Canada to visit with her daughter Carole, and the Lyndene Hotel in Blackpool were two of her favourite places to visit. Jean retired from Rists Wires and Cables. In her retirement, she volunteered at the Moorhouse Seniors Centre, helping organise coach trips and evening entertainment and also at Springhill Primary School, helping children to read. The funeral will be held on Friday, February 12, at 11.40am at Accrington Crematorium, led by Rev Stephen Crook. Family flowers only please; donations to the North West Air Ambulance Charity.
