The obituary notice of Elfrida MARTIN (née Laugharne)

​I have only just today learned the news of Elfie’s passing last October. I wanted to leave a message to send my deepest condolences to Peter, their daughter Liberty and all her family and friends.

​I am sharing a photo of the beautiful last Easter card that Elfie sent me. It is a wonderful memento of her kindness, which I shall cherish always. Yn meddwl amdanoch chi i gyd.

Dear Peter and Liberty,

I am so sad to hear about Elfie. In addition to being such a beautiful person, she was also one of the wisest, empathetic and most intelligent people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Elfie's infectious positive spirit and joyful humour I will never forget. Her kindness and yours I will always treasure, along with those wonderful times spent round your house. I absolutely adored you. We knew each other in the Wolverhampton Poly days. I bought a bicycle just so that I could cycle to your and Peter’s wedding reception. The last time we met was in a lift at Birmingham New Street and you were with Chris. What a chance meeting, you from Cardiff and me from Sweden! Thank you for my fond memories of you.
