IrisMARTIN MRSOf Ashby Court, Hinckley, died peace-fully at home on 1st June 2014, aged, 91 years. The funeral service at St Peter's R.C. Church was conducted by Father Frank and the hymns "The Lord is my Shepherd" and "Lord of all Hopefulness" were sung. Interment of ashes followed at Ashby Road Cemetery. Mrs Martin was the wife of the late Aaron Ernest Martin and they have two surviving daughters. She was an enthusiastic voluntary worker for many years and would challenge perceived injustice in any form. Her interests were many with good television dramas, old comedy series and tennis her final passions. The mourners were: Mrs Chris Ford and Mrs Penny Mould (daughters); Mr Chris Ford and Mr Andy Mould (sons in law); Miss Beryl Wright (niece) and Mr Bruce Howard (nephew); Miss Bridget Russell and Miss Sarah Howard (great nieces); Ms Mary Fitzsimmons (carer and friend). Mrs Pat Campton, Mrs Sara Sheard, Mrs Sam Moore, Mrs Tracey Atkins, Mrs Debbie Elliot, Mrs Lyn Williams, Mrs Eileen Clarke, Mrs Joyce Golby and other friends from St Peter's Church.
