Elizabeth AnnMAIRThe Mair family are sad to announce the passing of Elizabeth Ann Mair nee Wallbanks a resident of Darvel, Ayrshire. Beloved wife of 55 years to James Mair. Cherished mother of Robert James Mair and Lesley Ann Mair. Adored Granny of Callum James Mair and Katelyn Mair. Much loved sister of William Rose Bryden. Cherished auntie to all the family. Elizabeth inspired by example with her gentle strength, courage, sharp intellect, wisdom and boundless love. Born 3rd July 1951 at Kilmarnock Maternity Home to Robert and Elizabeth Wallbanks (nee Rose) she departed peacefully 8th August 2026 aged 75 at The Beatson Cancer Centre, Glasgow surrounded by her loving family. Her end was met with the same grace and dignity as marked her passage through life.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 28th August at Darvel Central Kirk followed by burial at 11:30 in Darvel Cemetery (new). There will be light refreshments and a reception to be held at Darvel Masonic Lodge afterwards. All family and friends respectfully invited.
Family flowers only, please. In lieu of flowers we ask that people make a donation to either the Ayrshire Hospice or The Beatson Cancer Centre. Both of whom we are indebted to for the excellent care Elizabeth received when she needed it most.
