RubyMADENOn 25th May Ruby Maden sadly passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer. She leaves behind a wonderful family consisting of husband Ken, children Bryon, Beverley, Barbara and Rosemary, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson, a lovely sister Jean together with many other people who 'adopted' her as their 'Mum'. Ruby was born and raised in Oswaldtwistle and was well liked wherever she went and she never forgot her roots and her family. Ruby had many different jobs during her life finishing up at Ossy Mills where she was affectionally known as 'Remnant Ruby'. She enjoyed her musical prowess appearing in many shows and excelled as a member of the 'Golden Girls', touring nursing homes and other venues. She enjoyed her holidays from the girls trips as the 'Benidorm Babes' to her favourite caravanning holidays all over the country. She was a very keen supporter of Blackburn Rovers, culminating in her being chosen as part of the 'Diversity' programme, where she escorted the players onto the pitch at the start of the game, the best matchday she ever had. Whilst she is no longer with us, she will be reunited with her 'lost' twins Robert and Graham. Rest in Peace, no more pain. The funeral will take place at Accrington Crematorium on Tuesday 8th June at 2.20. Family flowers only, donations would be welcome to Macmillan Nurses.
