HazelLOWEIn Loving Memory: Hazel Lowe (1951-2026)
Hazel Lowe, née Trotter, of South Cave, passed away peacefully at Hull Royal Infirmary on 23 August 2026, with her son Justin by her side. She was 75.
Born in Hessle in 1951, Hazel was the daughter of Esme Welton and Henry Trotter, and the proud granddaughter of John Henry and Hilda Welton, also of Hessle. She was the beloved niece of Betty (her second mother) and Dennis Harrington, and worked at Armstrong Massey until 1973.
Hazel faced significant health challenges throughout her life, yet she met every one of them with quiet strength and remarkable grace. She never complained, and her smile always lit up the room. She loved gardens, and found peace and joy among growing things - nowhere more than at Southwood Hall, which became her favourite place to be.
Hazel was the proud mother of Duncan and Justin, and it was Justin who devoted himself to her care in her later years, by her side to the very end.
Everyone who knew Hazel is warmly invited to her farewell service at Haltemprice Crematorium, Willerby, on Wednesday 23 September 2026 at 1.30pm, followed by a garden party at Southwood Hall, Burton Road in Cottingham HU16 5EB, where friends and family can gather in the beautiful grounds to remember her, as it was her favourite place to be, alongside Justin.
Dress code is Garden Party
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
