The obituary notice of Matthew James (Matt) LOVATT

It was an honour to know Matt, initially as neighbours when he and Jen moved in next door but later as much loved and valued friends.
Matt was kind, caring and generous with his time and always happy to help out when needed. The way he faced his cruel illness with such dignity and fortitude was inspirational and a mark of the man that he was.

Today I remember a very special person Matthew Lovat, or as he was affectionately known to many of us in Dorset as 'Bernie'.
Bernie was one of those people who left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He had a warmth and a way of making people easy and relaxed in his company. There are people who pass through our lives and there are people who become part of our lives Bernie was definitely the latter. As a work colleague I remember being in a few scrapes with him, he just took them in his stride he just used his calm relaxed manner in whatever he did. Although I didn't see you often I am pleased to have called you a friend and you will always be in my thoughts. Bless you Matt R.I.P buddy. Tul we meet again

Really sad to hear of Matts passing, he was a colleague who became a friend, and a friend who will never be forgotten.

Dear Matt, you were so very special, it was an honour to have you as a son-in-law. Your optimism for life was amazing through such terrible suffering. Thank you for being such a loving husband to Jen and for all of our happy memories. Ann and Ken
