the chair by the door sits quietly now no hand rests upon its arm no familiar voice rises from its place and yet it is never truly empty for it holds a thousand moments the kind you don't notice while they are happening every morning greeting every evening story the laughter shared across the room and the comforting presence of someone simply being there and the years may pass but some things remain untouched by time the love the laughter the life that will warm the room forever

mum you were a shelter in the storm a candle in the dark a quiet place in restless times and the balm that soothed the heart you are forever with me and l will forever miss you all my love always

mum we sense you but we can't see you we feel you but we can't touch you we perceive you but we can't hear you but your home is in our hearts even though we're apart you're always there within the air your spirit is everywhere

there is one thing which always rings true l will always be so grateful to have had a mum like you grateful for the special times we shared throughout the years times that brought us closer through our laughter and the tears and when l look upon my life what matters in the end is that l was really lucky to have you as my mum and friend
