Oh my this is sad news Tom and I were very close friends in the sixties and seventies.
We first met at Ernesettle Secondary modern school, I would always keep an eye open for him when he was having a quick smoke in the toilets. When we left school we both grew our hair long, went to the Van Dike and had a very groovie seventies.
Then life got in the way and we lost touch with each other.
I echo the sentiment Rock on Tom. You were a very good friend.

Had the pleasure of speaking to Margeret on the night John was admitted to hospital on the Thrushal ward on the night of the election. I had a great conversation with Margaret about her children voting. John was cold in his bed on the ward so I swapped with him. After Margaret left, I spoke to John for a couple of hours. A lovely man.

Rest in peace John and thank you so much for your company on that night.
