Rest in Peace Rella.

I will always treasure the memories of starting at St. Albert’s Convent with you aged 4, wearing too-big blazers and big felt hats in winter and panamas in summer. You were nearly always top of the class, fast and furious on the Sports Field, a truly brilliant pianist…Grade VIII at 14 or thereabouts!

Your future seemed assured: concert pianist with Jacqueline du Pré or glamorous Fashion Model Eventually you left for America working for the UN and in Montreal for the Exhibition. Later we met again in Nuneaton, ……and I remember meeting up in Paris where you encouraged me to come to the St. Mathew Passion in the Madeleine!

Later you became Godmotger to my younger daughter Tash and joined us for her Holy Communion in Stratford

We used to love visiting you in Wells, exploring the area with you. I particularly rember a Tallis concert at Wells Cathedral. And a camping holiday in the rain where you brought dry food!

Bless you Rella.

Dear Marylla,
In gratitude for your fidelity to your faith, your humility, your support of Amnesty International. And wasn’t our trip to watch Flamenco dance fun?! Deep peace of the Son of Peace to you.
