RogerJENMANWe are sad to announce the passing of Roger Jenman after a long battle with dementia on Saturday 6th July.
Although he moved away from Crowle in 2010 with his second wife Barbara, Roger had played an active role in the local Scunthorpe and Isle communities since moving there with his first wife Judy, son Alex and daughter Debbie in the mid-1970's.
A local parish councillor in Crowle for many years, Roger was also Chair of Crowle Bowls Club and Chair of Governors of North Axholme School (Axholme Academy), both for around 2 decades.
A formidable charity campaigner, Roger was also proud to be Chairman of Scunthorpe Rotary Club on two occasions including for the Millennium in 2000.
Roger was also widely known in the area from the many years he worked at British Steel initially, drawing from his background in hotel management, in catering before progressing to the recruitment side where many will remember being interviewed by him. He left to help form the Education Business Partnership which saw Roger working with businesses and schools across the area.
Roger leaves behind his son Alex, daughter-in-law Liz, daughter Debbie (McKinney), stepson Stuart and his wife Lucy plus grandchildren Peter, Jack, James, Laura, Heather, Archie, Stanley and Florence and great grandchildren Tommy and Olivia.
Most importantly his wife Barbara who lovingly cared for and supported him until the end.
