MervynJAMESGlyndwr 09.09.1939 - 06.04.2008 It is with deepest sorrow that the family announce the sudden death of Mervyn, beloved husband of Gwen, devoted father of Helen and Tony, an adored grandfather of Shaun, Nikki, Ethan and Owen, father-in-law of Kevin and Carol-Ann, brother of Dai and twin brother of Morfydd. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the many people who attended the church service at St Peter's Church, Deri, followed by interment at Brithdir Cemetery. A special thank you to the Rev Andrew Bookless who conducted the service with dignity and respect, for such a well known and respected man as Mervyn. It was shown how much Mervyn was loved by the mass of people present. Thanks to the bearers David, Gareth, Wayne, Andrew, Mark, Simon, Christopher and Adrian for the dignity and respect shown to Mervyn. A sincere thank you to the friends and neighbours for the superb buffet they prepared and to the numerous people who returned to the community centre as a mark of respect for Mervyn. Many thanks also to the committee of the Deri Regeneration Group for the use of the hall, this was greatly appreciated by all the family. A heartfelt thank you for the many, many cards received, messages of sympathy and floral tributes, reading the messages written in many of the cards has been a great comfort. A special thank you for all donations received for the Velindre Hospital Appeal (Cardiff) and the St David's Hospice, Ystrad Mynach. Once we are aware of the amount raised this will be published locally. Gwen and family would sincerely like to thank the consultants and nursing staff of the Chest Clinic, Prince Charles Hospital who always showed Mervyn heaps of love and care on his various visits to them, and a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of Ward 10. A sincere thank you to Craig of D J Thomas & Son, Funeral Directors, for the dignity and respect shown at this harrowing time. Although there are many tears now we're apart, Until we meet you again you'll be in our hearts.
