IRENE SHAWSHAW (Byker). The family of the late Irene (Rene) Shaw would like to thank relatives and friends for their messages of condolence and floral tributes during this sad time. We would like to express our gratitude to the hardworking and dedicated staff of Ward 21 at the General Hospital, who made Rene's final days as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Many thanks also to her neighbours Betty, Cliff and Brian whose friendship meant so much to her, especially in recent years. Special thanks to Father Rourke for his comforting service and to Christine Hardy of W.S. Harrison and Son for her advice, kindness and compassion. Thanks to all friends and family who attended Rene's funeral and helped to give her a fantastic send off, that she deserved.
