HerbertHILLMr Herbert (Bert) Hill died peacefully at his nursing home on 1st October 2021, aged 97. Bert, previously of Kings Rd, Accrington was the devoted husband to the late Brenda and father to the late John. He leaves daughter in law, Catherine, grandchildren Rebecca and her husband James and Colin and his wife Emma together with great grandchildren Oakley, Isabelle, Robyn and Oliver. Bert was born in Rochdale and married Brenda in 1946. They were married for over 70 years. Together they ran a number of successful businesses including general grocers and fish and chip shops. Following their retirement in 1985 Bert (together with Brenda) enjoyed holidays at the coast and dancing at local social clubs. They made many friends with whom they kept in contact over the years. Bert always looked forward to visits from family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at Accrington Crematorium Chapel on Friday 22nd October 2021 at 1pm. No flowers please.
