Dearest Mum

Summer feels like it’s over, and Autumn 🍂 on the way. I was remembering how you always said that the days would be getting shorter and how you would be looking forward to the days lengthening again and Spring to come. You always loved the brighter warmer days. I found a verse just for you and your love of kind words:

I’ll be with you in the Summer’s sun,
and when the Winter’s chill has come.
I’ll be the voice that whispers in the breeze,
I’m peaceful now, put your mind at ease.

Dearest Mum

Thinking of you today. On your 87th birthday, I shall be celebrating the day and remembering your 84th birthday, which is the picture above. The first of your birthdays since the boys started school that we could be in Cornwall, as their exams had finished and hence no school, so we could be with you. We had a cake and sang Happy Birthday to you for you to blow out the candles, you beamed (as can be seen in the above photo) from ear to ear as you hadn’t celebrated like that since you yourself were a child 😊. It was lovely. As are you ❤️.

I’ve written something for you, as you love kind words, not as good as my last attempt for you, but it can’t always be great, and you’d love the attempt at something rather than nothing 😊.

You never wanted gifts, just kind words. So, I’ve written this just for you ❤️

Memories of your kindness,
your beauty from within,
shall stay with me forever,
a very lasting thing.

This does mean that you’ll always live on in me ❤️
