NicholasHAYIt is with great sadness that the Hay family announce the passing of Maj (Ret'd) Nicholas Hay MBE, at the age of 78 years old. Nick passed away on Friday 7th April 2023 surrounded by close family, following a short but cruel battle with cancer. Nick was born in Hartlepool in 1944 but settled in Tamworth in 1993, when he retired following a successful military career. He later served as CEO of Staffordshire and West Midlands Cadet Force and was a keen supporter of SSAFA and The Royal Engineer Association. A funeral service will be held at Sutton Coldfield Crematorium on Thursday 11th May 2023 commencing at 11.30am followed by refreshments at The Glascote Social Club in Tamworth. All family and friends are respectfully invited. To honour his military career, serving officers, soldiers and Veterans are encouraged to wear medals and regimental ties. Close Family flowers only please, but donations if desired, could be made to The Royal Engineer Association, Lichfield and Tamworth branch.
