DorothyHANNON30/12/31 - 15/03/23 Dorothy Hannon of Church View Care Home Oswaldtwistle, formerly of Melbourne Street, passed away peacefully on Wednesday 15th March 2023 aged 91 years. Beloved wife of the late William (Bill), cherished Mum of Stewart, Christine and Duncan and Mother in Law of Maureen, Helen and the late Charles. Much loved Grandma and Great Grandma of Adam, Helen, Felix, Joshua and Emmie. Daughter of Andrew and Robina Wilson and sister of Joan, Ena and the late Andy, Bob, Gordon, Cath and Mary. Born and brought up in Scotland, Dorothy moved to Oswaldtwistle when her and Bill married in 1951. As well as raising their 3 children, Dorothy undertook a number jobs before becoming assistant cook at Rhyddings School for many years. On retiring Dorothy and Bill enjoyed many holidays both here and abroad. Following Bill's death in 2003 Dorothy enjoyed holidays to Blackpool with her friends, gardening, reading, knitting and socialising with friends and family. Special thanks go to all the staff at Church View Care Home for their kindness and loving care over the past 8 years. The Funeral will take place on Wednesday 5th April at 12.20pm at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Road, Accrington. Family flowers only please.
