JeanGRIFFITHSMrs Jean Griffiths nee Bennett, of Blackburn Road, West End, passed away after a short illness on Saturday, September 25, at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, with family at her bedside. Dearly loved wife of Ray, with whom she had very recently celebrated their Diamond wedding anniversary, Jean was mother to Gwen and Elaine, mother-in-law to Andrew and Tony, grandmother to Craig, Adam, Laura, and Kieran, great-grandmother to Logan, and dear friend to Noreen. Having lived in Oswaldtwistle all her life, Jean formerly worked as a beamer at Stanhill Ring spinning mill, and later at Joseph Arnolds. Jean will be fondly remembered by family and friends, who all will miss her wonderful sense of humour, strength of character, and mischievous laugh. She stayed very active until recent years, and loved to walk her dog around the area. The funeral will take place at 1.30pm on Wednesday, October 13, at Immanuel Parish Church, Oswaldtwistle, followed by a short service at Accrington Crematorium at 2.20pm.
