First of all I would like to apologise most sincerely for missing Sandy's service at Lochmaben.I have only just heard of his passing and am deeply sorry to receive to his news so late.
Myself and my family would like to pass on our condolences to you all.
Although a different generation than Sandy I have been brought up with the story of the formation of the British Texel sheep society with Sandy always talked about as the man that made this breed happen! My Grandfather always insisted that it just wouldn't have happened were it not for Sandy there would have been no British Texel sheep society.
I think my Grandfather and Sandy had a very good working relationship and gave a lot of time to this huge achievement in thier lives. I am so proud to be not only a relation to it but still heavily involved in this fantastic breed which these great men started.
Every chance I get I remind people of the importance of Sandy to the society's formation and the early importations.
I hope you receive the this message ok and once again apologise most sincerely for not being in touch sooner
Thinking of you all
