Elizabeth was a dear friend to me. My Mentor and trainer and confident. She told me of memories she had of the music courses and conferences she attended to learn the Liturgy and extra training as the superb organist she became. Many parishioners will remember a very special organist We all respected her. She played for weddings and funerals Easter, Christmas and occasions throughout the year.Leading the liturgy. Often going down to the alter herself to sing psalms. She instructed me to sing the psalms and her amazing daughter Helen who is such an accomplished and respected alto and psalmist. The Easter Holy Week liturgy she was a perfectionist . I was so privileged to sing Ave Maria, and Panis Angelicus with her. I always feel these pieces are duets with the soloist and the organist and wow, she was amazing. She trained me to sing Faure Pie Jesus too. I felt so very privileged.
When she retired I missed her so very much and she is irreplaceable. Those special times are forever treasured. I used to visit my son's grave in Spring Lane Cemetery and visit her at the same time and she invited me to beautiful formal lunch in her beautiful dining room on many occasions. RIP my dearest friend Elizabeth. Many prayers. THANK YOU ON BEHALF OF THE WHOLE OF ST JOSEPH'S PARISH FOR OVER 40 YEARS OF SERVICE TO US ALL.
